Founded as CHEMOcare in 1981, Cancer Hope Network is a not-for-profit organization that provides free and confidential one-on-one support to cancer patients and/or their family members.
We do this by matching patients and family members with trained volunteers who have themselves undergone and recovered from a similar cancer experience. Through this matching process, we strive to provide support and hope, to help patients and family members look beyond the immediate diagnosis of cancer, cope with treatment, and know there is life after a diagnosis of cancer.
We ensure quality in our matching process by training volunteers, utilizing best practices, and opening many channels of communication.
Recently, we have implemented a full-featured social network focused on cancer patients and caregivers. People registered in our social network (only a first name is required) can create or join groups that facilitate private, confidential conversations.
HopeNet is our social network -- expanding our capability to connect people with shared cancer experiences.
