You can volunteer
Support Volunteers are at the heart of the Cancer Hope Network. They fulfill our mission to provide one-on-one support to people undergoing treatment for cancer and to their families. The efforts of our volunteers enable people with cancer to look beyond the diagnosis, cope with treatment, and resume living life to its fullest.
Cancer Hope Network volunteers should
- Be a cancer survivor or co-survivor (family caregiver) off treatment for at least one year. They may also be on maintenance therapy as treatment for a chronic condition.
- Be a prior patient or family member of a person who was treated for cancer using conventional treatment options. Complementary and naturopathic therapies alongside conventional treatments are acceptable.
- Possess a positive attitude, good listening skills, and be willing to share their experiences surrounding cancer in a way that inspires and instills hope.
- Be 18 years of age or older.
- Participate in an orientation and training session.
Why volunteer with Cancer Hope Network?
As a volunteer you can make a difference to people in their fight against cancer. Perhaps there were people who gave you emotional support and lent a sympathetic ear to you during your cancer experience…or you wished that there had been. CHN can make it possible for you to give hope to others when they need it the most.
